About Us:

Dr. Mike Younker
After graduating from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982, Dr. Younker worked as an associate veterinarian at Riverdale Animal Hospital for six years until he was encouraged by his long-time friend and mentor, Dr. Dave Selleck to open up a new practice in Fayetteville. Hence, the beginning of LaFayette Center Animal Hospital, opened in 1988. This has been a very successful small animal practice, keying upon developing close relationships with clients and patients. Soon after opening, LaFayette Center Animal Hospital was accredited as a hospital member of The American Animal Hospital Association, an organization requiring high standards of practice. Dr. Younker has been very involved in organized veterinary medicine as President of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and serves as Hospital Director of Southern Crescent Animal Emergency Clinic. He also serves on the Advisory Counsel for The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. "This new project...Fayette Veterinary Medical Center...is the most exciting project ever. We will now be able to provide even better service to Fayette County (and surrounding) pet owners and keep that personal touch that has caused our previous success. Veterinary Medicine is the greatest profession in all the world...I am passionate about helping people celebrate the Human-Animal Bond. God has blessed me beyond all that I could ever imagine or hope for and I am only looking forward to see what the future holds."

What are we REALLY all about?
When Robby and Mike formed their partnership, they knew that it was not about purchasing another veterinary clinic and trying to make a profit. They have plenty to do with their lives, but they both believe that God put them together in order to make a difference in this world. Not only will they be able to practice veterinary medicine in the best way possible, but provide an environment where other veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and other animal-care personnel can advance themselves in careers that give them fulfillment and purpose. "We believe that God has a purpose for everyone and part of that plan is to know Him. From that point on, there is a specific and wonderful plan for them. We want each of our employees and clients to know that we care about them...not only nine to five, but for their whole lives." - Mike Younker
Therefore, our mission statement not only involves providing the best care possible in veterinary medicine, it purposes to create an environment where the people of Fayette County will want to bring their pets because they trust us. We want to create an environment where people will want to work and stay for a whole career because they will love their job. We want to honor God in every thing we do.
